    Hi Mike,

All politics... er business... is local, Mike! We have to make the most impact closest to us. If I can't move to Silicon Valley, I'm going to help build one here!

    Douglas:
I've been agreeing with you all along and also stating that the issue on a macro level is that we are being inundated with too much information because the sites are too large and also too many people are capable of putting the information out there and there is no way to guarantee that the content is relevant and is of acceptable quality. The only way to get this is to have content experts validating the content or to have smaller communities where it is easier to control the information content.

I see this trend speeding up. Over the last month I have had four interviews with entrepreneurs launching sites that are niche or community oriented.

Thanks for this post. It just supports what I have been preaching to my constituents.

Good on you, Indianapolis. there is a startup in Delaware that is doing something similar, although they haven't attempted to localize their content.
